THE CANDLE
"Repetition" by stamping with the object itself and stamping the object symbolic by using little wood lines.

First Try outs

The Candle is a representation of our age, just as maps are a representation of the world.

What does it mean to represent "reality" or rather our own "subjective reality"?

How can I respresent this object that is about representation?
I decided that I like the wood line stamp the best because it was "clean" and less literal because I was not using the object itself.
I tried stamping with the object itself, was not happy with the result.
Made a whole study of a Candle by stamping with different wooden tools.
I started experimenting with the stamping "candle representation"on the sea maps that I found at Scrap XL in Rotterdam.
PUBLIC SPACE EXHIBITION
Arnas, Madalena, Alma and I wanted to organise a Public Space exhibition with our "object" artworks.

Madalena and I tried to combine our artworks in the middle of the road. The idea was that this space on the road never gets used. A lot of cars pass by so it would be a great place for artwork, however the wind blew our artworks away.

Documentary of our Public Space exhibition
In the end we went for the Space under the bridge, because our artworks were protected against rain and wind + a lot of people walked by.
I decided to show some artworks out of my "study of a candle" next to my map because I wanted to show my process.
After the exhibition everyone took their artworks from the walls, however I wanted to see if I could keep my process artworks on the wall under the bridge. It hanged there for 2 months. I have never gotten them back again and I do not know where they are, but they hanged there in Public Space for 2 months and that is enough for me.
